Who: Miata and the moles
What: REBELLION.....the very very quiet version
When: Week 0, Thursday night
[ At midnight, the televisions in the rooms of the chosen players will go off, loud enough to wake them if they're sleeping. Just like before, it fades out into a solid gray background, though this time with a recognizable voice speaking. ]
Hey, meet up by the basement steps in the next half-hour. This is important. Do not tell anyone.
[ Anyone currently sharing their room with someone will instead hear the voice echoing in their heads as if through a loudspeaker--and unable to be heard by the other occupants of the room.
By the time the first person arrives, Miata is already sitting at the bottom of the steps, looking anxious. ]
...go ahead inside.
[ she gestures to the basement door ]

Or, you know, maybe not. ]
...So what exactly is this about?
no subject
Which is why she shows up, glancing at Miata with no small amount of confusion. ]
That's what I'd like to know, myself.
no subject
[ Nothing like being woken up by the TV from every horror movie ever telling you to go to the basement, the body-dumping murder grounds of very horror movie ever.]
1/2
[ Miata stands up, but doesn't follow them into the room yet. She'll wait for the other two before explaining the situation fully.
That said, the basement contains-- ]

It's huge for one, taking up the entirety of the upstairs floor plan and then some. Concrete floors and walls mixed with fluorescent lighting give it a very warehouse-like feel. Various items are stockpiled wall-to-wall in the western end of the basement--racks of rifles and pistols with ammunition, grenades, and what appear to be bulletproof vests are probably the most noticeable. Next to them are boxes upon boxes of canned and preserved food, cartons of bottled water, and a very small fridge/stove combo.
Miscellaneous boxes and objects lay near the entrance. Clothes that fit in with the style of everyone's wardrobes are tossed in a heap, most of them ripped or bloodstained. There are ladders, ropes, and spare blankets, and flashlights and candles, mixed with more out-of-place things like numerous cans of red paint, a block of wood with multiple chunks missing, and buckets of salt.
On the east end of the basement, however, is a very normal-looking couch, table, and chairs. A wheeled chalkboard rests to the side of it, overlooking a slightly faded chalk pattern on the floor. ]

And, wow, are those guns and grenades and bulletproof vests?]
Goodness. [Hello friends.]
no subject
Is it in regards to this town... or this game? [ She eyes the bulletproof vests with interest. Maybe she can add that to her inventory later. ]
no subject
... Is this everyone you wished to speak to?
[ And if so, why just them? ]
no subject
[ Miata squints and looks up the stairs one more time before huffing and marching into the basement, locking the door behind her ]
Figures he'd be a no-show. Dunno what else I expected.
[ addressing Inaba: ]
A bit of both. Shit's gonna start hitting the fan really fast. You've noticed the footsteps, right?
no subject
guess who... saw the message on the tv, just thought it was a dream, threw a pillow at the tv in response and went to go back to sleep --
but then remembered he was in murdertown and that it was all probably real. SO YEAH. have a rhys, knocking on the door and shout-whispering from the other side. ]
Hey! Heeeeeeeyyy! Come on, let me in. I fell asleep! Come on, door. Open for meeee.
no subject
Miata even goes so far as to pull out a fucking gun from some nebulous hammerspace portion of her foofy blouse. ]
Son of a bitch.
[ And the basement is soundproofed as well, so she'll take her time getting her frustrations out: ] Useless little...of-fucking-course.
no subject
Except this guy is on her Least Likely to Kill list, so she isn't surprised at all. ]
Seriously... [ Just going to run a hand through her face because of course the only male one is a bumbling idiot (questionable? maybe?) instead of someone decently smart. Whatever. ] I heard the footsteps, but I thought that was just me being paranoid. What exactly was it?
[ Good to know that they're actually real and she's not going crazy, thanks. ]

smuppetsdead bodies. But she is curious about the pile of jacked up clothes. Well, and the guns (is there any laser rifles) but she sometimes has priorities. ]Crap, is this the Weenie Hut Jr club? [ She's okay if it is, but there better be hats if so. ]
no subject
...I'm not sure if I should be glad the footsteps are real or not.
no subject
[ or she's actually a sadist and wants to keep picking on him...one or the other
Miata tucks the gun away and goes to unlock the door. ]
...just get in here already.
no subject
which doesn't really work so much when he's not wearing shoes. enjoy his dumb socks. ]
Yeah, okay. So this isn't suspicious at all.
no subject
[ said very flatly. Miata closes the door behind him and quickly locks it. She spends a moment observing the...fine assortment of character assembled before her before sighing and walking towards the chalk board. ]
Have a seat, if you want. This'll take a while.
[ Gesturing to the couch and chairs ]

[ Her voice is dripping with sarcasm as she takes a seat, straightening herself out. ]
So, let's get straight to the point where you tell us what's going on.
no subject
[ Takes a seat as well. Let's do this let's have this weird basement meeting of creepiness. ]
no subject
What is a weenie hut, exactly...?

A joke they keep using and assuming everyone in the room knows what that is. Sorry, kids! Some of us here are from 2871 and don't care about your outdated humor.
no subject
[ pause ]
Also I think it has somethin' to do with some kids cartoon with a talking sponge, but fuck if I know.

[ She doesn't even care, humor is how she's dealing with this stressful situation ]
...orrrrr, more seriously, I'm going to try to wreck this insane game from the inside. Being that I'm not omniscient, unlike our resident Black Curtain, I'll need a little help. I'm a piss poor public speaker, so this might get a little rambly. Bear with me.
[ She picks up a piece of chalk and begins writing on the board.]
{ REBELLION? }
She's a really powerful sorcerer, that's her powerset. The most important one is the omniscience thing--she uses a combination of pyromancy and scrying to keep her eyes on you guys at pretty much all times. That's also how she got the information on your profiles. Because of that, I can't tell you as much about the game as I want to. There's definitely a risk of her noticing something is off. Things you guys shouldn't know, or too many of you working together in the first place--why I could only pick five of you, too.
{ Pyromancy & scrying = sees fucking everything }
As for how this little rebellion would go...I'll be honest with you. We won't be able to prevent any of the murders. Even some of you might end up kicking it. Her influence is way too strong, and I've seen it in action. But, I've got reason to believe death isn't the end.
{ Ghosts and shit }
She brought a few other people here before you all, as experiments to test how dimensional magic would work. They both ended up dying, but I've caught glimpses of them walking around the hotel. This town is haunted as balls. [ So poetic. ] The few times I've gotten a look at her spellbook, she does have a couple rituals to resurrect the dead. If the soul is there, all you need is a vessel to draw it back to the physical world. So while avoiding death would obviously be better, you're not completely screwed if you get involved in a tragic bonfire accident.
{ Don't ask me to explain black magic oh my god }
The problem here is the huge-ass difference in talent. She's been practicing magic since she was a kid, and I've only picked it up a few weeks ago, entirely in an effort to oppose her. So from a combination of the scrying thing and her being a way better wizard than me, I can't automatically resurrect everyone who dies. That'll take time. I need to actually study this shit, and in a place where she won't find me.
[ Miata gestures to the faded magic sigil on the floor. ]
So, here's my proposal. You guys give me a hand, be my eyes and ears, and help me assemble shit to eventually do this bigass resurrection ritual. Depending on how things go, I've got a couple plans for when only seven people remain. In the meantime, I'm gonna play along as her mouthpiece, do as much as I can to help you guys within reason, and attempt to learn 13 years of magic study in a few months.
It's a huge, huge risk, but with enough hard work I think it'll pay off. We can't let her finish this. The problem isn't only her killing off 29 people, but what's going to happen when those 29 people are all dead.
I'll give you guys a few days to think about it if you need it, but please don't tell anybody or you'll really be throwing me under the bus. What do you say?
