If it only just happened... there's still a chance we can prevent a murder.
[ And then there doesn't have to be a trial and stuff and she and Gilbert can go back upstairs before anyone worries. ]

[BUT, ONWARD!! Time to scout the premises!! Which probably won't take long considering the pool is to the left of the stairs and all, and there's some water outside.]
—Starting here might be a good idea.
[Steppin' on in front of Alisha to get the door though, just in case.]

... Except when they step in, and she moves past him, her eyes are instantly drawn to the motionless figure in the pool. Her breath catches in her throat, and logically, she knows that it's likely not going to be a salvageable situation, but someone is (presumably) in danger, and so--
Off go the boots, the spear clatters to the floor, and in she goes.
She is going to regret this the instant she touches the water. ]

Alisha, wait—!!
[But he reacts on instinct instead, rushing in after her even though she's already flung her boots and spear aside and is diving right on in. HOT DAMN.]

1. This was a trap.
2. She's probably never going to open her eyes again after this.
But even as the thought crosses her mind, the shock does the rest, and she loses her grip on her consciousness before she can even try to warn Gilbert to run. Or ask him to tell Faize she's sorry, or even say "ow".
What a morning. ]

Of course.
Of course.
And Alisha is either dead or unconscious, and Gilbert is almost reckless enough to try reaching in after her out of reflexive fear, but-- No. He needs to get help. He doesn't even stop to identify the body already in the pool (or realize that it's a fake); he's just quick to turn so that he can head back for the door and call for anyone near enough to hear, already opening his mouth to yell—]

So she hides and watches her plan actually work (thanks, late night Dateline shows), then grabs the weight she'd been planning to use for the drowning. It comes down easily on his head, but it definitely wasn't enough to kill him. Now she has two unconscious bodies and it occurs to her that she's way too obvious. This plan is as sloth and weak as it gets.
She struggles to drag Gilbert nearer to the pool and her eye catches on the spear that Alisha left. That'll make it easier. Not that she's ever used a spear before, she's not a caveman, so she just lifts it and brings the pointed end down hard. ]

Which is, of course, the last thing he sees.]
