[ he'll give her a wary look and there's quite a few things he could say to that but. he won't. he knows all about scales of morality and spitting on them. it's kind of what he does every day. ]

... Yeah. [ he thinks for a moment. ] I guess it is more important if we survive more than anyone else. If we survive, we can get everyone back. Taking the deal with Leviathan would secure the two of us for maybe a bit longer than we have already. It would be... a good thing.

If you don't feel alright doing it, I don't think anyone will judge you for refusing it. [She's not a good person, she's not--so she shouldn't feel bad about trying to lead others toward the most pragmatic solution, and yet she continues to provide other options for them, at least. Let her be the hypocrite. Let her be the villain. She hates that Inaba and Rhys often take the role from her.]

[ it's weird for rhys. he doesn't want to be a bad guy. he wants to be a good guy! he wants to... well, he doesn't want to help people but he wants to live and he'd like it if other people lived too. being directly confronted with the ability to help other people live -- that's the problem. he's never sure what to do with that.

logically, pragmatically, this makes the most sense. he runs his fingers through his hair and sighs, looking up to the ceiling. ]
